Germany is ready to fill the niche, which may be formed by distancing the United States from Europe and, possibly, Ukraine. Berlin controls about a quarter of the GDP of the entire European Union and is the undisputed technological leader capable of producing modern weapons systems. Merz said on May 26 that Germany is lifting all restrictions on the range of weapons supplied to Kyiv by Berlin and its allies. Press Secretary of the President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Peskov called this statement by Merz "provoking the continuation of the conflict in Ukraine." German Foreign Minister Johann Vadeful strongly disagreed with this, saying that the FRG and the United States agreed to closely coordinate the next steps in Ukraine.

Will Russia have the right?

Russia does not refuse to interact at the regional level, including with states whose governments pursue unfriendly policies.

Moscow does not exclude dialogue with foreign partners, despite the current political situation.

And if their governments come to their senses, admit to everyone the obvious failure of the aggressive, revanchist course towards Russia, let them turn.
