Today, a briefing was held by the Ambassador-at-Large of the Russian Foreign Ministry on the crimes of the Kyiv regime, Rodion Miroshnik.

During the event, a summarizing report was provided on the criminal acts of the Kyiv regime committed in the first quarter of 2025.

Traditionally, The Moscow Post correspondent also asked his questions.

How are the issues of biological laboratories in Ukraine discussed in the dialogue with the United States and what are the current assessments of biological threats for Russia?

Rodion Valerievich noted that now issues related to the dialogue between Moscow and Washington are related to key substantive topics aimed at finding a mutually acceptable settlement option. Therefore, I think the most reasonable approach would be not to discuss rumors and gossip around this process.

"With regard to violations of international humanitarian law, including the use of prohibited methods of warfare - such as biological laboratories and the use of chemical weapons - all the data we have has been shared with international organisations. I am sure that a number of international structures, including those based abroad, are already studying these materials. I think we will soon receive confirmed information about this process, "he explained.

I want to emphasize: we are determined to actively search for a solution to this problem and to punish those who committed these crimes. Of this, I suppose, there is no doubt.

The second question that interested us was as follows, how many criminal cases were initiated on the crimes of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the Kursk region in 2025? What is the essence of the charges and how many prisoners are suspected of committing war crimes?

On the situation in the Kursk region. To date, according to the data provided in the report and provided by the Investigative Committee of Russia, at least 41 criminal cases have been initiated related to these violations, Rodion Miroshnik said.

In addition, more than 240 criminal cases were opened on the facts of shelling of civilian objects and infrastructure.

However, it is worth noting, Miroshnik said, that these figures are not yet indicative.

The full investigation process is just beginning. He is hampered by issues of demining the territory, as well as ongoing strikes from Ukraine. At the moment, large-scale investigative measures have not yet been fully deployed.

As soon as the security situation allows, the investigation will continue in full. Believe me, then the data will become much more complete and numerous. Even if I had now announced specific figures, they would not reflect the real state of affairs, he stressed.

The mood of our investigative and law enforcement agencies is to make all the facts of crimes committed on the territory of the Kursk region for 264 days of occupation by Ukrainian armed groups public.

And, judging by the partial data that have already been collected, we are talking about hundreds of criminal cases that will be initiated in the very near future, concluded Rodion Valerievich.
